A little break was needed!

I really need some rest and that is why I was a little absent from the blog these days. My schedule, whether personal or professional, is loaded! I spent, and I think a few more days, to take care of my son. He is on vacations! The lucky guy ;)

I think you will all understand me.  Thanx anyway.

I want to give you some news about my progress in the development of Events-Calendar.

- The creation and edition foms of events is completed. And I am very satisfied of it, especially as regards the management of exceptions recurrences.

- I just finished a small improvement that we spoke in the comments with some of you. Again, better than words, an image:

Post’it This is not over. I am setting up a solution for selecting a background image is possible.

I will also work to develop a solution templates for calendars. I will also change the appearance of the administrator’s calendar.

But before attacking the biggest piece, management options, I will have to bring order to the files because it’s really a mess!

When the module option is completed, it will only leave the module to import and export of events before I propose a beta version.

Best regards

    Heirem,

So much tank yous for you hard work. By the way, family life is so much more important than a plugin so no excuse needed here. Hope you enjoyed you son’s vacations. We guys and gals can cant wait.

    YES WE CAN!

Like many, I was about to write my own when I saw this. It stopped me dead in my tracks. Now I’m doing a theme and reserving a place for this beautiful plugin instead of doing a plugin and putting off the theme.

    Thank you again Heirem,
    Louis

This is so far beyond my expectations!

Looking forward to an opportunity to beta if possible.

  3. Juanjo Gonzalezle 23 février 2009 à 22:34 Lier au commentaire

Indeed this is going beyond everybody’s expectations.

But it seems you are developing a great plugin that we are all willing to use in our websites.

Please, don’t make us wait any longer… >.<

    xD

Just kidding, I know you are in need of that break. You deserve it and YES WE CAN WAIT A LITTLE BIT MORE.

    Cya ’round!

Thank you for a wonderful plugin.

I have only one request. I would like to be able to display both the calendar and an event list for the next 30 days in the widget.

  5. Heiremle 1 mars 2009 à 18:24 Lier au commentaire

    Dear Louis,
Thank you for these pleasant words, full of understanding.
So I offered a week of complete disconnection from all the computers, and I held my son as I was saying. That was a lot of good moments.

I’m back and I will take things to the point where I left off. It becomes imperative to do away with this version of Events Calendar.

I had news of Luke Howell who is preparing a website that will be a support for the plugin. I told him about Trac and a plugin to install a forum.

I thought you might be counselor, and even an active participant, what do you think? I can talk to Luke. But it is perhaps better to speak of this by email ;)

    Dear Juanjo,
    Dear OmahaSEO,
    Thank you very much!
    I know you are impatient.
    And this is normal.
But my main concern is not to disappoint you in the final ;)

Is it possible I can post all the events on any particular category, right now all going to categorize?

  9. Heiremle 2 mars 2009 à 0:59 Lier au commentaire

    Hello Salman,
I’m sorry, I do not understand your question :(

  10. Salmanle 2 mars 2009 à 1:09 Lier au commentaire

When I post an event with checked on “Create Post for Event” it auto post that event in Uncategorized category of my blog! Right?

Is there is any possibility that I can select any specific Category to post all the events posts?

    For Example:
I create a new category in my blog with the name of “Events” and now I want all my events go to this category, rather it posts under Uncategorized.

    Make Sense?

    Thanks for you help :)

    Hello Freek Edeling,
What are the problems you encounter with the list of events? Have you spoken of that here before ?

When a sculptor works on a statue at the beginning things seem to go fast because it is the rough stone and give shape to its creation. The sculptor inexperienced think following his work will go quickly. And of course he is wrong because it is all the little details that take more time. This is exactly what I’m currently with my work on the statue Events Calendar … ;)

    Heirem,

The only problem I encounter is the ‘Link out’ option, I can’t get the link to work. Tried http://www.domain.com and http://www.domain.com, but nothing works.
I would like to link it to a page or a post. I use event calendar for upcoming sports events and I want to create a page where our members can read more about the event and maybe even register for the event.
    The rest works fine.

Good luck with your work on the statue!

    Best regard,

I’m working on a new site that isn’t live yet and I love your calendar. But I can’t find the version that you have active on your site. The version I downloaded (6.5.2a) doesn’t seem to be the version you have active on your site. I realize that it is still in development stages, but is it possible for you to share the code as it is. I’m still working on my site and I’d love to start integrating your plugin while I’m still in development

    Thanks,

    Bonjour,

J’adore votre plugin Events-Calendar. Histoire de vous filer un coup de main, regardez ce plugin pour joomla :

Ca serait bien de s’en inspirer, surtout pour catégoriser les events et mettre des évenements récursifs.

    D’avance merci.

  20. Heiremle 10 mars 2009 à 18:16 Lier au commentaire

    Dear Freek Edeling,
    Thank you ;)
I admit that I do not well understand your problem. What does not work exactly? When you enter a URL in the field ‘Link out’ (it’s not an option) is not changed. There is only an inspection to prevent malicious intrusion by this entry. Then this link is reflected in the views of the event and clicking on them you should be able to open a new page according to the link.
This is not what is happening with you?

  21. Heiremle 10 mars 2009 à 18:20 Lier au commentaire

    Hello Mikemike,
This is unfortunately not yet possible. What you see on my blog will be what you get with the next version. But to give you an idea of the results (and also to have your opinion) I have made specific adaptations to my blog. The plugin as it is, ie under development, is not yet usable. It will take a little patience. I work hard so you can dispose of quickly.
    Best Regards

Thank you so much for your hard work. And I appreciate your care and deliberation. Please let me know if there is anything I can do to help. I’m not sure if I have enough technical skills to write code, but I’m learning. I’m willing to offer anything that would be useful. I left a small donation for you. I hope that is a good start. Maybe it can go towards a cup of coffee and give you a little inspiration.

Some ideas are: I could probably be a good alpha/beta tester. My site is not open to the public. I’m just using it as a learning project. Also, do you have a Trac set up. I don’t have much experience with those, but it seems that seems to be a popular tool with many of the projects I’ve seen on WordPress.

    Keep up the good work.

    Heirem-

I use your Events Calendar in another site and love it. In my new site, I am having a problem with the formatting of the box which has the month in it. It is a different width then the rest of the calendar, and the background and text colors make the text unreadable. I have tried changing settings in events-calendar.css file (#wp-calendar caption). Changes to the text alignment and border color are seen on the site, but what I need to change are the background color and the box width, but changes to these settings don’t make any difference on the site.

I am wondering if there is a css conflict with the WP theme. If this is the case, is there some way to override this conflict?

Many thanks for all your work- especially your willingness to support the plug-in.

  24. Lorile 12 mars 2009 à 6:25 Lier au commentaire

I am looking forward to your new calendar! Your hard work is much appreciated!
I have looked through the many posts on this site, but have not found an answer to my issue. It would seem rather simple, but I can not get it to work. I need to decrease the width of the entire calendar. If I set specific width for caption, etc things do not line up very well. Also tried setting the width for ec-widget display, but no luck.
Hoping you can point me in the right direction.

    thanks!!

    Hi,
I am really sorry to bother you with this, I only hope this could be helpful in case this is a bug
I have checked your blog, I have checked wordpress forum, I have checked google… a few people are having the same issue but noone have found solution.

    The events just won’t show.
I add them, they are in a database, they are in admin list… they are not in a calendar.

See this link with people who have exactly the same problem: http://wordpress.org/support/topic/195205

Any idea what this could be?

Thanks in advance for your help.

The plugin follows your WordPress calendar preferences. Go the the WP “General Settings” panel and select the “day starts on” option.

  29. Heiremle 15 mars 2009 à 20:35 Lier au commentaire

    Hello Amysdaddy,
The best way I know to solve your problems with the CSS is that I use myself. The first is to use Firefox. Then you have plugin dedicated to web development with Firefox. There are two that I find particularly helpful:
    - Web Developer who offers a very large number of tools to control your web pages. So also with regard to CSS.
    - Firebug is still best known and which enables you to easily see all the codes associated with each elements of a web page.
With it’s two tools you will be very easy to solve your problems yourself.
Have fun and good work !

  30. Heiremle 15 mars 2009 à 20:42 Lier au commentaire

    Hello Lori,
The answer I provided to Amysdaddy above also applies to you. I would add that for the large calendar the best solution passed necessarily by the CSS. As for the little widget calendar you can play on the length of the names of the weekdays. This is one of the options of the plugin.
    Best regards

  31. Heiremle 15 mars 2009 à 20:54 Lier au commentaire

    Hello Elena,
I have read everything you write. I looked at the sources of your web page with the large calendar. I see only one explanation. It seems that the event or events that you entered in your database are not taken into account by the plugin. This requires that you go check all informations for each events, especially the dates. Otherwise I do not see what that might be! And without taking control of your site I am not able to help you more. Sorry.

  32. Rayle 16 mars 2009 à 12:40 Lier au commentaire

    Hello Heirem.

Firstly. WELL DONE!!! - I have been looking at many events calendars over the last few days and your wordpress one is potentially the best of the lot by far.

If only it would work properly for me :-( It seems to keep “old” cached information.

    Example:
if I add a new event. - it is there -
If i then delete this event and add another instead. - it is there -
However if I go to the “next month” and then back again the “old” event shows up. Not the new one. ???

Unless I refresh the page. But then if I scroll forward again to the next month and back again to the current month… then the new events are gone again and the old events are back.

Its very strange. Is there a way to turn off the auto cache? So that the calendar will re-load the new month from scratch each time the “next month” or “previos month” are selectd.

This also seems to happen with the days of the week “display” settings. Example: If I set the days to display the first 2 characters. It will only do this for some months and then change back again to showing the first 3 characters on other months. I can only guess that this too is old cache information comming through. Is there a way to turn off the auto cache? I would rather have a slow calendar than a broken one ;-)

On initial tests… this only seems to be a problem in IE. not in Firefox.

Thanks again for a FANTASTIC plugin and looking forward to hopefully using it soon.

    Heirem-

You are the man… I do use Firefox, and the Firebug plug-in is an outstanding tool, and helped me find the css that needed to be tweaked to make the widget calendar appear as wanted. Can’t wait to see the new version.

  35. Heiremle 17 mars 2009 à 18:00 Lier au commentaire

    Hello Ray,
    Thank you !
I understand what you say but it seems to me very strange.
There is no cache handling in Events-Calendar. There is one in Wordpress but it works very well and it is not implemented in the plugin. So I really do not see where your problem may be. And without having the hand on your site as administrator I do not see what I can do for you …. sorry
    Best Regards

First, let me say…great plug-in! I have it on one site right now (http://www.gramdmasbackyardbbq.com just using the sidebar and events listed. For some reason the bullets are way to the left. Is there a way without breaking things to have them moved over to the right? Thanks so much.

I have another site in the works which will use the calendar extensively. Really looking forward to the new features.

  40. Eriq Nealele 20 mars 2009 à 23:40 Lier au commentaire

    Heirem -

Thanks for the continued development on this plugin. One request: the PHP code that loads Events Calendar has a hard-coded path to the thickbox code in WP (specifically in ec_calendar.class.php, ec_day.class.php, and events-calendar.php). This thread (http://wordpress.org/support/topic/214879) points out that if you have the WP code loaded in a different path, the popup for the events won’t display properly. I’ve gone in and hard-coded the path to point to where my installation is (yeah, i could probably figure out the relative path, but needed to get a quick fix for this) but for future updates it’d be great if you could pull from the relative path to the wp-includes folder instead of assuming that it’s in the root of the web path.

Keep up the good work, this has been a good plug-in for us!

    -Eriq

  41. _Toto_le 21 mars 2009 à 15:53 Lier au commentaire

First let me thanks you for your greqt work.

Now i will try to explain the problem i have with events-calendar.

As u can see on my website i use the EC widget in the sidebar. Events are displayed correctly in the widget (ex: if i put an event the sunday 22/03/2009 the right day appears in red).
Now if i click on it to open the thickbox i have 2 problems.

1- Look at the format of the title, it say “Mars Samedi 22 2009″ instead of “Samedi 22 MArs 2009″

2- As u can read above it say “Samedi” instead of “Dimanche”. In fact for each event i enter, in thickbox the day displayed is always wrong (sunday instead of monday, monday instaed of tuesday etc..)

It seems i’m not the only one to have this problem but i couldnt find an answer on how to fix that.
I run actually the last french version of wordpress with your last version of events-calendar.

If you have an idea to fix that i will really appreciate it.

  42. Heiremle 21 mars 2009 à 17:48 Lier au commentaire

Hello Robert Eilers, Sorry to not help you much: you do not give enough details. What dates do you speak?

Dear Sandy, Unfortunately the URL that you indicate does not correspond to any site on the Net. About bullets, and of all that relates to appearance, it is necessary for you, you or someone who help you, to adapt the CSS directives of the plugin.

  43. Heiremle 21 mars 2009 à 17:59 Lier au commentaire

    Hello Eriq Neale,
Thank you for your encouragements. It is indeed one of the small defects of the current version. Thank you to point out it to us. With regard to the next version the problem will not arise any more. The plugin was completely rewritten. It is one of the reasons for which it is made so much wait ;)

  44. Heiremle 21 mars 2009 à 18:29 Lier au commentaire

    Hello _Toto_,
    Thank you for your encouragement.
You’re the second person to raise this issue.
From my side I still have not managed to reproduce and that is what bothers me! However I note that on your blog text is in French and the date format in English …

  45. _Toto_le 21 mars 2009 à 19:49 Lier au commentaire

    Thx for your answer.

I just found out for the date format, now it is correctly displayed (in offline website, i havent updated the online right now) but infortunatelu it didn’t fix the other bug :)

  46. _Toto_le 21 mars 2009 à 20:08 Lier au commentaire

I was playing around with ec_js.class.php and i decided to modify the line 89 to make some test.

    i replaced this :
    $date_show .= ucfirst($wp_locale->get_weekday(gmdate(’w', mktime(0,0,0,$m,$d,$y)))) . ‘ ‘ . $d . ‘ ‘;

    by :
    $date_show .= ucfirst($wp_locale->get_weekday(date(’w', mktime(0,0,0,$m,$d,$y)))) . ‘ ‘ . $d . ‘ ‘;

and it fixed the day problem for me. I dont think it will affect another part of the plugin because the $dateshow variable is just used here for the text of the tickbox.

Unfortunately i have no idea why some people have the problem and some other don’t.

  47. Sandyle 21 mars 2009 à 22:41 Lier au commentaire

I’m sorry I did have the wrong URL. It is http://www.grandmasbackyardbbq.com

However, I switched to the calendar view instead. Had some major problems though. I downloaded the 6.5.2a version from this site and it created fatal errors when installing. When I tried to uninstall it would not let me. I had to manually delete files in cPanel where they seemed to be installed in the wrong place. I’ve downloaded 6.5.21 again directly from the Wordpress site onstalled it and now using the calendar view with no problem.

I don’t show the other version installed as a plug-in any longer in cPanel, but it still shows under inactive plug-ins and will not allow me to remove it. Doesn’t appear to be hurting anything though so I’ve just left it alone.

Me again… disregard my post above….. r.i.e. - reading is essential…. was right in front of my eyes at the plugin page of site….. If you do not have a widget ready theme then you can place ‘’?, or ‘’ for an event list, in the sidebar.php file of your theme….

However, the looks are quiet different to what you display here - are you showing of a future release???

  50. Rayle 25 mars 2009 à 19:11 Lier au commentaire

    Hi Heirem.

I have found the cause of the caching problem I mentioned above.
The IE caching settings need to be changed as follows:

    open IE.
    > Tools
    > > Internet options
    > > > General
    > > > > Browsing History
    > > > > > Settings
    > > > > > > Check for newer versions of stored pages:
    > > > > > > > The default is set to: “Automatically” It should instead be set to: “Everytime I visit the webstie”

This then makes the calendar work correctly in IE.

Is there a way to fix this from within the Plugin? I think that the same problem would be experienced by most IE users.

  51. Imokonle 26 mars 2009 à 13:06 Lier au commentaire

    A few things quickly,

I wish you best of luck and I like others am holding out for the beta as I feel no calendar does justice! Thanks for all your efforts! The current version I have doesn’t work correctly but it does fine for now.

second I had problems sending you an email previously as well.

Third and final, it’s not a major thing right now but is it possible to associate dates on the calendar with the Events Registration plugin by David Fleming? Or is that where I just create a post through the event and add the form there I guess?

Where can I find an overall “how-to” document for your wonderful Events Calendar?

What a wonderful, wonderful calendar! I’ve literally spent the past 2 years searching for a calendar solution I liked for our site and nothing would work (do you know how few calendars allow registered users to edit it??). This is fantastic!

I’m going to change some of the display graphics on the calendar. I’m guessing I would change the CSS in events-calendar.css? What do the other four css files control? (apologies - I’m very new to CSS and I’m not yet able to read it very well!)

    Merci,
    Perian

    Hello everyone!
Sorry for being absent from these pages for some times. Some purely private problems moved me away from all peripheral occupations. I’m back and I will resume my work where I left it, for the community, so to you all.

@Sandy: By reading your blog I see you do a good job and you have solved your problems. I am happy for you.

@Puronator: Same observations that for Sandy. Indeed in the next version you will have the choice between several forms of widgets.

@Ray: I’m glad you found a solution to this problem rather bizarre. However, I do not think this is a good idea that a plugin changes the options of a browser!

@Imokon: I hope you still enjoy using Events-Calendar. Thank you for your suggestion regarding the plugin by David Fleming. I found the page dedicated to this plugin here. Is that the good one you talk ? I look more clother when I would have finished with the development of the next version of Events Calendar. Now that took too much delay.

    Hello Pat,
I do not think your problem is related to Webkit. It is possible that an event of April is involved. It would have taken that I can see the problem with an online consultation to give you an opinion ;)

  58. Heiremle 6 avril 2009 à 19:41 Lier au commentaire

    Hello ricebomb,
I went to see the page of your large calendar and I could see the problem. Then I looked at the source XHTML code for your page. I found nothing unusual. That means the plugin has probably done its job well, but your Wordpress template is in question. I think probably to a fault on the side of CSS rules.

    Hello John Fierke,
If all goes as I hope, with the next version, you wil can have a good online help, and “how to” pages. But for now you will have to (yet) patience.
    Merci de vos encouragements ;)

    Hello Perian Sully,
The only CSS files that I would advise you to change are ‘events-calendar.css‘ and ‘events-calendar-management.css‘. The first concerns the display of the plugin in your blog, the second the display in the dashboard.
The two other CSS files (’clockpick.css‘ & ‘ui.datepicker.css’) are not especially to modify. They are used to display two jQuery plugins, underpinning Events Calendar.

    Bonjour Heirem,

First let me thank you for supporting & improving this wonderful plugin. One minor issue that I’m having; I’ve set up my wordpress installation & set the preference in Events-Calendar to display a 12-hour time format (meaning 8pm shows up as 8:00 PM instead of 20:00). It is working fine in the widget & the large calendar, but if I create a post from the Event, the post displays the time in 24-hour format. Any ideas how I can fix this?
See the following links for examples:
http://s247733819.onlinehome.us/tmcnm/herbnpalate/ (mouse over an upcoming event to see the time displayed correctly)
http://s247733819.onlinehome.us/tmcnm/herbnpalate/events/events-calendar-event-1/ (the event post displays the time in the wrong format)

    Thanks in advance.

This may have already been asked but I am wondering if the new Events Calendar will have a way to do repeatable events so that I don’t need to keep entering the info for weekly and monthly events.

Also I heard there was iCal syncing but I can’t figure this out.

Thanks for all the hard work!

  63. Stewartle 11 avril 2009 à 22:43 Lier au commentaire

    Ashuwah,

The answer is yes. Heirem has a sample calendar in this post that shows examples of several different types of repeating events.

    Heirem,

I am having problems with the text display of the tooltip (all caps, bad font, etc). I’m sure that the look is directed by some CSS somewhere, but I am not sure where. I have firebug (at your suggestion), but I am not able to inspect the elements of the tooltip. I am using this plugin on 2 other sites, and do not have this problem in them. Any suggestions? I am really looking forward to the update you are working on. Thanks.

    Hi Heirem,

Thanks for the nice cal plugin, I look forward to using it and sending you a donation to express my gratitude.

    Just one question:

How do I control the Large Calendar width on a page with a sidebar? It’s fine when there are no events in any given month, but expands to full page width for months with events…

I read the various comments and didn’t see anything that would help. I’ve tweaked CSS which affects the blank months just fine, but not months with events!

    #wp-calendarLarge {

    border-collapse: collapse;
    margin: auto;
    width:92%;

    Thanks for your reply.

    Au revoir!

  66. Heiremle 14 avril 2009 à 1:06 Lier au commentaire

Hello tmcDomains, It seems to me that you managed to resolve your problem before I can answer you. Bravo!

@amysdaddy : The right CSS file is events-calendar.css ans inside you will find the ‘JQuery Tooltip’ section. Take care that the CSS rules of your Wordpress template does not enter in conflict with those of the tooltips. In this case do not hesitate to adapt those of Events-Calendar.

  67. Heiremle 14 avril 2009 à 1:17 Lier au commentaire

    Hello Jay,
You found the good way, i.e. by adapting the CSS. However it will be difficult to help you. Because to adjust the size of this large calendar imposes that you harmonize the CSS rules of your Wordpress template with those of Events-Calendar.

You will find a “Large calendar” section in the file events-calendar.css. You then need to exploit the widths, of the calendar and its cells, on the margins, the sizes of characters in the cells. And all that while taking of account heritages of the CSS rules of your Wordpress template. It is a problem on which I worked of the days and the nights to find a solution in order to facilitate the life of the users like you. The solutions which I found are partial and do not satisfy me, I must acknowledge it to you :( The variety of the Wordpress templates is such as it is impossible to find a generic solution.

Bon courage et bien le bonjour chez vous ! ;)

    Heirem,

Thanks for your response; actually, the problem is still there.
The problem is that posts created from events display time in 24-hr format, even though my settings specify 12-hr format. See http://s247733819.onlinehome.us/tmcnm/herbnpalate/events/events-calendar-event-1/

    HELLLPPPP!!!!!!!!!!!

All of a sudden all my calendar entries are gone! I had THOUSANDS!!!!

The only thing I have done recently is upgrade my stray-random-quotes plugin to v 1.9.5. But I rolled that back to 1.9.4 and I still get nothing.

My site is backed up weekly by wp-backup plugin and it always backs up wp_kog465_eventscalendar_main but I don’t know how to reinstate this.

Also when I go to the events calendar page it has a little message in the corner

    ! WARNING! x
    message

When you click on it (anywhere not just the x) it disappears.

    I have a screen shot here: http://www.greysgabble.com/UPLOADS/EVCalSS.png

    HELP!?!

I don’t have a clue how to fix this, it was working 4 hours ago because I added 2 new events and edited one of the existing ones! I’m so confused! I desperately need your help! Please?

    Thanks in advance!

  70. Sarahele 15 avril 2009 à 6:31 Lier au commentaire

    Hi again,
I have looked and discovered that my MySQL thingo has got all the events and the info etc etc, and when I try to add a new event it doesn’t come up in the calendar in my dashboard but it comes up in my mySQL database table.

    So I’m really confused now.

    A little direction?

  71. Stewartle 15 avril 2009 à 19:00 Lier au commentaire

    Sarahe,

I don’t know if this is your problem, but I did hit a similar symptom when I edited one of my events manually (though phpadmin) and put a bad character in - an unescaped single-quote (’), I think. That caused the loading of events from the database to fail, so nothing was displayed.

The ‘warning’ message is normally hidden by (I believe) the jquery javascript, so that might indicate a javascript error. I’d suggest checking your error console if you’re using firefox (or script debugging, I guess, in IE but I’m less familiar with that).

Hi, would love to use your calendar, but I have been having problems.

First, when I uploaded through the wp 2.7,1 dashboard, it spilled all the files out, and put weird backslashes on the names, so they could not be deleted.

I got that resolved, but I can’t seem to get the calendar to list anything on the small version. I inputed several events, but they don’t show. Plus I can’t get to previous and next month. Something is not correct. Can you help?

  74. Simonle 24 avril 2009 à 13:12 Lier au commentaire

    Hi Heirem,

I have a proposed change for your plugin to make it compatible with the technique of >giving WordPress it’s own directory. Just changes to the includes at the top of the wp-events.php file:

    include_once 'wp-events-setup.php';
    include_once 'wp-events-functions.php';
    include_once 'wp-events-manage.php';
    include_once 'wp-events-widget.php';

Hope this helps. Email me if you’d like to discuss.

    Thanks.

    Simon

Giving WP it’s own directory: http://codex.wordpress.org/Giving_WordPress_Its_Own_Directory

(link got stripped from my previous comment)

  76. Stewartle 24 avril 2009 à 19:15 Lier au commentaire

Simon - I think you may have your plugins mixed up. The Events Calendar plugin does not include a wp-events.php file. The main file is events-calendar.php. In my experience it is already compatible with the configuration described in the codex article.

    Hi,

I was looking for the dutch (nl_NL) localization files in the lang directory. I could not find them, so I started up poedit and created the nl_NL.po and mo files. Uploaded them to the lang directory and the event list/calendar stopped being displayed.

I deleted those new files and the event list showed up again.

I then copied one of the other language files and changed the names to events-calendar-nl_NL.po and mo. And presto the event list disappeared again.

Am I going about this in a too simplistic way?

  78. Heiremle 28 avril 2009 à 17:24 Lier au commentaire

Hello Bryan, would you send me your nl_NL.po and mo files ? My email adress is in the footer of this page. I’m gonna take a look at them ;) Anyway something doesn’t go well because a bad translation configuration do not drive to an empty events list …

  79. Heiremle 28 avril 2009 à 17:46 Lier au commentaire

    Hello Simon,
I agree with the remark of Stewart. However, for the next version, I discovered expert’s article in PHP (whose trace I do not find) which gave me a better method term performances, of load of libraries. It is necessary to know that ‘include_once‘ and ‘require_once‘ are very “heavy” for the webdserver memory.
    Here is an example:

    class_exists('EC_LCalendar') || require(EVENTSCALENDARCLASSPATH.'/ec_large-calendar.class.php');

If it can serve you in your development…

I added the Events calendar widget and when I hover over a date on the side bar events calendar, it works fine and gives the details of the event. However, if I click the date for more details, the little box that opens up is to the far left and off the screen. I have version 6.5.2.1 installed. Can you advise me?

Thank you so much the nice plugin. The color scheme works so well with my new site.

    Thank you!

  81. Heiremle 4 mai 2009 à 16:11 Lier au commentaire

    Hello Leslie Bigos,
Indeed, I saw a problem on your site, and for me the thickbox does not even open. I then consulted the XHTML sources of the page and I did not find anything significant. To determine whether this is a problem inherent to Events Calendar I build this link. As you can see it provided out the content of the thickbox. So this is a javascript problem. The thickbox is executed by the function tb_show and you can find in the sources of your XHTML page. His statement is quite normal. I only can explain your issue as a javascript conflict between plugins. To go further I should need administrative rights on your FTP space.
    Best Regards

    Hi Heirem

Thanks for a great plugin, I look forward to the next update.

I just have a few questions with regards to modifying the plugin.

    1. In the admin when an event is added, using the js datepicker, it formats YYYY-MM-DD - where can I change the date format so it reads Day XX Month YYYY.

    2. Using the large event list, is it possible to add the excerpt tag after each Title?

    3. Is there a tag that could be placed in a template where it could bring in say the latest 3 events?

Any help would be appreciated, Many Thanks Matt
