Events-Calendar Evolution: More again!

Good evening my friends,
I will start by warmly thanking Stewart for his help in the assistance brought by his enlightened comments. The time saved on the developments is invaluable. And to thank him still more for the donation of 30€ that it made me :)
As I had evoked in my last answers, you will find in my sidebar the last evolutions of the plugin. That took much more time than envisaged. On the one hand because the had aims were ambitious and on the other hand because the difficulties which I have of surmounting were much more numerous and hards that I had not thought it.
But the result is there and all seems well to function.

In my sidebar you will be able to notice first of all that several widgets cohabits without problems. You have the small calendar of Events-Calendar which is near the default calendar of Wordpress, without anomalies. And you can see also two distinct lists of events, with some differences between them.

We will see all that in details. Follow the guide.

I obviously will not speak to you about the calendar provided by Wordpress. But remember that this calendar is used to locate the articles posted on a blog.

As you can note it the small calendar of EC. is now surmounted by a series of retractable buttons. The functions which (or will be) are assigned to these button are:

  • Switch between the calendar of the events to the calendar of the articles. You understand that Events-Calendar will be able to replace the calendar of Wordpress!
  • Filter: It will be possible for you (when all is finished) to filter the events or the articles by categories, but perhaps not only.
  • Search: a help in the search of an event or an article.
  • Today: display in the form of a post-it the events of the day. It will be possible, by options, to make so that this posting is done with the first connection to the blog for each visitor. Either in the framing of the calendar, or like a thickbox in the center of the screen.
  • Add: if as I it think and I studied it, it will be also possible, under certain conditions, of allowing the addition of events, for an authorized user.

The display of these buttons will not be obligatory. All will be configurable by options.

As you can note it yourself, only the function of switch between the two calendars is available. The remain is to be finished or make :)

Now the lists of events. The starting objective was to be able to sail in a list. I.e. to advance or go up in the time line. But with the implementation of the recurring events the part was not easy!

It then presented at me an obviousness: It needed the choice between two lists. One “light”, which does not claim much power from the server, but without the recurrences. And a list of all the events, recurring or not, but which would require a little more of the server in calculations.

It is with the technique of the iLayer, well known by DHTML programers, that this last list was possible. As it was necessary to think of everyone, and thus also with the sites which intended to manage much, much… many events. I set up a system of ranges of time. I leave you judges of the result.

And to finish I ensure that all these widgets cohabits together.

It remains still much to make, then I goes back to work.
Of course, do not hesitate to tell me what you think about all this :)

PS: I would recommend you use Firefox to better assess the results. Although adjustments to be made that this result is drinking with other browsers has been exhausting! :)

    Hi Heirem,

The new calendar looks great, I can hardly wait.

I found the up/down arrows on the events lists a little confusing. After playing around with them a little, I still have a hard time remembering which button is which. The function of the single arrow (up/down within the currently displayed events) is one I would associate more with a scroll bar. It’s also confusing that the same icon behaves differently in the two lists - scrolling continuously on mouseover in one but requiring a click in the other.

  2. Heiremle 24 décembre 2008 à 2:12 Lier au commentaire

Thank you Stewart. The confusion in the role of navigation arrows is understandable. But we must not forget that these lists are not normally intended to be displayed together. But I will consider your remarks. These are small changes.

What do you think about using different images of button for each of the two lists?

As for the scroll bar, ie a lift, I had already thought. But I find it wide and ugly. And it is not possible to change his style by CSS in browsers. This could be an option what do you think?

  3. Heiremle 25 décembre 2008 à 3:04 Lier au commentaire

Dear Stewart, do you prefere the first events list with this scrollbar ? ;)

  4. Andyle 25 décembre 2008 à 12:52 Lier au commentaire

Wow, the new calendar looks awesome! Can’t hardly wait to use it ;) Thanks for your work!

    Dear Andy,
Thank you very much. I work hard on it! ;)
I’ll must tell you that I remember your previous suggestions. I am looking for alternative possibilities for the tooltips and tickbox for example. Also setting compatibility with LightView ;) If all gonna run as I hope they will be options that each administrator can set as he wishes.

    Hi,

can i help you with a Dutch translation of Events-Calendar?

  7. Heiremle 26 décembre 2008 à 12:18 Lier au commentaire

    Hello Dirk aka pellong,
is a kind offer. Unless you can improve the translation of the current versions, we must wait the one that I am preparing is finished. There is much to do in translations elsewhere.

no problem, than we will wait.

    Great Work !!,
I have a proposal or suggestion … can you add a different color for Saturdays, Sundays and Holydays, like real calendars?
I did that for my site changing the code.
    Congratulations again!!
    Diego.

Thank you so much for this, I have seriously been looking for an events calendar plugin that will actually create content for so long. As soon as the new version is released with recurring event capabilities I plan on donating everything I have in my Paypal account (have to let it build back up after Christmas shopping unfortunately). This is seriously the best plugin ever for hyperlocal websites. We use calendarwiz.com right now and add over 1000 events each month, so much content that could be on our site! Enough gushing, the only other addition I would like to see is the ability to store location information and choose it in a drop down. We currently have over 500 locations and typing them over and over is time consuming.

  12. John Halele 28 décembre 2008 à 16:45 Lier au commentaire

    Heirem,

congratulations on your success. I am not a coder, so I am envious of your great skills. I was wondering if there exists a method to create events by using an email, or importing calendar items into the database? Let me know if this is something that can be developed, and if so, what the cost for such a piece would be.

    Thanks.

  13. Heiremle 28 décembre 2008 à 23:08 Lier au commentaire

    Dear Juanjo
I only need your patience … and your encouragements ;)
I started to attack the fattest of the changes: the management of events and the options. I can not continue to evolve the front end of the plugin without creating, updating events and options are insufficiently responsive to the new set in my ToDo List.

I have developed a box with tabs menus and submenus may contain forms. You can have an idea by consulting this page HERE.

About forms (there will be many) I have adapted and improved a PHP class dedicated to this function.

When this big block will be finished, I will look after the overall consistency of styles. And finally he left (I believe) the events import / export module to achieve. But maybe I will submit an version before that.

Happy end of the year to you and all reading this ;)

  14. Heiremle 28 décembre 2008 à 23:14 Lier au commentaire

    Hello Diego Stilman,
    It is a good idea.
    Considering a background color?
A color just for the title of the column weekday?
    Or all the column?
Given the possibilities of localization by the plugin, it will not be possible to establish once and for all the weekdays affected by these color changes. But this can be determined by options ;)

This was a good idea to give me a link to your site to get an idea of what you do :)

  15. Heiremle 28 décembre 2008 à 23:18 Lier au commentaire

    Hello Misty,
I really understand your need !
I think the next version should be able to satisfy you. Stay tuned with my blog to be among the first to be able to beta test ;)

  16. Heiremle 28 décembre 2008 à 23:31 Lier au commentaire

    Hello John Hale,
Thank you for your encouragement and your compliments.

The sending of events by email or SMS ? I had already thought ;)
But honestly my ToDo List is already quite as satisfied.
It will maybe be for the version after.

However, a module import / export of events, from a text file, XML content or iCal format is already planned ;)

    Hello Heirem,

I am trying to use the plugin (ver 6.5.2.1) in my blog (wp 2.7), but the widget does not work correctly. If I add an event, the display of the months disappears and also I can’t see the events. I tried everything, but I can’ t solve the problem. :(

  20. Michalisle 30 décembre 2008 à 18:14 Lier au commentaire

… If I check the option “jQuery Extrem Protection”, I get the same results as if i add an event.

    … Opening “events-calendar.php” file , I realized that the Version is “6.5.2 beta 7″.

  21. Heiremle 5 janvier 2009 à 0:20 Lier au commentaire

Hello and Happy New Year Michalis,
I have looked at the source code of your page.
It is still a problem of conflict between plugins.
And your site uses a lot.
The problem is that the statement of scope of protection reserved for jQuery in the header is not taken into account in the proceedings.
Why? I really don’t know. If I could have access to the sources codes of your blog via FTP to retrieve your configuration, I could testing locally.

  22. Michalisle 5 janvier 2009 à 0:37 Lier au commentaire

    Happy New year

I have already disabled ALL, without any result. I will send you ftp codes via your email.

    Thank you for your help.

  23. Gastonle 6 janvier 2009 à 14:52 Lier au commentaire

    Hi Heirem,

I probably completely missed the point (because I know that you seem to allow creation of recurring events), but how do you do it for anniversary (yearly recurrences).

    Thanks for this excellent plugin

    Gaston

  24. Jamiele 7 janvier 2009 à 0:17 Lier au commentaire

I am using your plug in with version with Wordpress 2.7. On the admin screen it will not allow me to delete any events after they are added because they don’t show up. You can see events on the front end though, when I have them added. If you have a development version with 2.7 support, may I please have a copy? This would be much appreciated.

  25. Jamiele 7 janvier 2009 à 0:30 Lier au commentaire

Never mind. The problem was with The Viewzi Site search plugin. It was messing with something on the admin screen. Thanks anyway and I can’t wait for recurring events support! (Still would like a development copy.)

  26. Heiremle 7 janvier 2009 à 15:28 Lier au commentaire

    Hello Gaston,
You do well to talk about it because it is part of my current thinking. I initially thought that the dates of anniversaries, as national days, would be introduced into the database via the import module. But I say then that this method may lack flexibility.

A day anniversary is a date which has no beginning or end of period, for which the year is not important. The plugin is currently designed to be based, in its SQL queries, on these dates for the beginning and end of period. The solution would be to create events in which the start date and end would be extreme. For example 1970-01-01 and 2099-12-31. And implement a new type of recurrence in which only the date and month would be significant.

It is also possible to create a category of event that would be dedicated to this type of events. Indicate this category, when creating the event, would thus shape the form accordingly. For example disabling entry dates and end of the period and by automatic enabling the recurrence sub form.

    What do you think?

  27. Heiremle 7 janvier 2009 à 15:35 Lier au commentaire

    Hello Jamie,
Once a stable version of Wordpress 2.7 has been available and I am eager to test it with Events Calendar. Of course I did tested with Events Calendar only and alone :)

I did not notice any fundamental flaws. The only problem, more embarrassing for the eyes than for the operation comes from the poor presentation of forms and menu items.

I do everything I can to move forward as quickly as possible the new version on which I work hard. Thank you all for your patience.

  28. Kevinle 8 janvier 2009 à 13:11 Lier au commentaire

Thank you so much for creating this plugin with the big event page!

I’ve searched around but I’m not sure where to submit a bug report.

I have an event that starts in the evening and ends the next day in the morning. An error is displayed stating that the end time is before the start time - this is true, but those times are on different days.

Must event end times be later than start times?

  29. Kollmanle 8 janvier 2009 à 20:17 Lier au commentaire

I have a quick question. How do I get the calendar to start on Sunday rather than Monday. I know it is probably something simple, but drawing a blank. Love the calendar plugin!

  30. Stewartle 9 janvier 2009 à 8:53 Lier au commentaire

    Kollman,

The events calendar uses your blogwide preference for the starting day of the week. You can change this under Settings: General: Week Starts On.

  31. Stewartle 9 janvier 2009 à 8:57 Lier au commentaire

    Kevin,

I experienced the same problem you did. There’s no easy fix for it - the check right now is very unsophisticated, it would have to be rewritten to take start/end dates into account as well. Alternately, I suggested to Heirem maybe this check could just be dropped.

  32. Heiremle 12 janvier 2009 à 23:18 Lier au commentaire

    Dear Kollman, Dear Stewart,
    Happy New Year ! first

This problem has been reported only twice. And despite all my tests I did not manage to reproduce my side. I will take the time to look over it but I would have access to the corridors of a blog.

Otherwise I prefer to spent my time in the next version. It laboriously advance, but it advance. Furthermore, concern the creation and updating a event, I change all. The way is now checked the forms is very different.

But I’m still interested in learning more by the difficulties you encountered ;) Fix a bug is a thousand times more rewarding!

Using Ver 6.5.2.1 along with WP 2.7. Love the plugin… but finding a small problem.

On the Admin side, when looking at the large calendar, the links above the calendar that allow prev and next months ONLY allow the next month. I have looked at the code and the href link looks right, but when you hover on either side, the link on both sides merge to one side and only allow you to move forward in the next month.

    Well, maybe not?!?

I just came back into the page, and now it all works. maybe a fluke or something held up before? I don’t know… but if you get an update for WP 2.7, please post something here so I will get notified.

    Thanks

Ok… so the problem occurs when I log in as a lower role than admin. As Admin the links work as they should. However, when logged in as Editor, the links only go forward…. strange…

Hello Heirem and thank you so much for the wonderful plugin! It is fantastic - exactly what I needed.

I have perused many of the past comments but not all, so forgive me if these have already been requested (they both pertain to the widget):

Is there a way to turn off the tooltips in the event list?
Is there a way to edit what information appears in the event list? I would like to delete the week-day indicator, and add in the time(s).
For the widget-calendar, is there a way to link directly from the tooltip to the post? I do not want to show the pop-up.

Thank you again and again for your help - you are wonderful!
    Michelle

  37. Michellele 15 janvier 2009 à 1:29 Lier au commentaire

    Sorry, one more request:

On the administration page, can you provide a link to the post associated with the event - or just go directly to the post after a new event is created + post? This is just to save me time. :) I will always have to go to the post and add images, etc, and I don’t want to forget to do that.

    Thank you again!

Hi and thanks for a great plugin that has worked great in previous versions!
But…. I upgraded to WP 2.7 and events calendar 6.5.2.1 and when I click on “click date for more details” the whole blog page is refreshed with the info stuck in the lower left margin. The pop up window thing with the darkened blog page doesn’t happen. I tried firefox and safari.
    Any ideas?
    Thanks in advance!

  40. Heiremle 16 janvier 2009 à 13:11 Lier au commentaire

    Hello Ed Nailor,
All this is very strange indeed.
I know long that Events Calendar works with the latest version 2.7 of Wordpress. But it does not work perfectly.

There are about 5 months now - time goes so fast - I undertook the complete rewrite of the plugin. By adding all the features provided on my blog.

It was a good decision for the plugin. The difficulties you encounter with the latest version of Wordpress come from, for the most part, the structure of the plugin, as had designed by Luke Howell. It is therefore essential to review all this. And that is precisely what I currently work.

But you have to know that I only have a few hours per day and weekends to devote to Events Calendar. So it takes time. But I am determined and I have the consistency, I know this will lead to a result.

I will soon write an article to inform you of advanced courses and to review the problems with the latest version of Wordpress.
    Best Regards

  41. Heiremle 16 janvier 2009 à 13:17 Lier au commentaire

    Hello Dear Michelle,
All what you are asking me are very good ideas for profiling options for the next version of Events Calendar. But you understand that, for the version you have, the only solution is to return to the plugin code and modify it. Nothing prevents you from undertaking it. But let us then of your changes ;)

But your best option is to wait a little longer the next version that would normally fill all your expectations ;)

  42. Heiremle 16 janvier 2009 à 16:13 Lier au commentaire

    Hello David Ostrow,
You have done nothing wrong. Your events are there. But only in the sources of your calendar page. It is clearly a conflict between plugins. I see that you try the “jQuery extrem protection”, but I suspect without success.

That is what I would if I were you:
    - Disable all the plugins.
    - Check the XHTML sources that no trace of code, inserted by a plugin, stayed despite its cancellation.
    - Enable Events Calendar, and it alone.
    - Check the proper functioning (if not, stop there and tell me)
    - Then activate the plugins one by one, and after each activation check that everything works. If it doesn’t so the last activated plugin is the one which is in conflict with Events Calendar.
    - Tell me the results to see exactly what code is concerned.
    Bon courage ;)

  43. Heiremle 16 janvier 2009 à 16:21 Lier au commentaire

    Hello Rick,
I looked at the XHTML sources of your page. I see two avenues:
    - Disable your Flickr plugin and test.
    - Review your permalink structure.
For example adding “index.php” at the end of the permalink string.
    And keep me informed ;)

Hello. I did the disable Plugins trick. CformsII v 10.0 is the conflicting one. On Cforms v9.6 the calendar worked …there is an upgrade from 10 to 10.1, so i will try that…if no good then i guess it’s back to v9.6…unless you and oliver siedel at Delicious days (the creator of cforms) can figure out the conflict.

Thank you so much for the great plugin. Sadly I recently upgraded to 2.7 and the plugin is no longer working properly. I can’t get any of my events to show up on my events page. Also the popups are no longer working. Do you know why this might be?

I disabled cforms from the above poster’s note, but it’s still broken, do you know why?

    Heirem,

I appreciate all the help you provide here!

Hopefully this is just a quick code question - is there a way to not have the large calendar show on the Add Event page? We have hundreds of events and when we are done our calendar will have over 1000 events each month, so the page takes quite a long time to load so we can add the next event.

    Thanks!

    Hello,

first of - that calendar is a very nice piece of work, very convinient! :)

But i have a slight problem, changing the date settings in the admin section doesn’t switch the date-output format for me from yyyy-mm-dd to dd.mm.yyyy in the automaticaly created postings when i check the checkbox.
It works fine for the calendar itself and all other outputs, only the output in the posting doesnt change. :(
Any idea what to change in the code to fix it?
    I tried around a bit on my own and managed at best to make all events disappear hehe. ><;;

  49. Moseyle 19 janvier 2009 à 0:00 Lier au commentaire

Sorry to post again so soon… there are a few simple questions I would like to ask, if possible, about the plugin please?

    1. When clicking on ‘Read more’, is there an easy way of loading the actual related post rather than having the ajax-loading window/popup box appear please?

    2. I noticed that the ‘draft’ post that is created with the event is automatically listed as ‘Uncategorised’. Is there an option or it is possible o create an option for admins to input a ‘default’ category to which these posts should be assigned to?

I really, really, really like the large calendar display, and am loving the hover over function that seems to seamlessly popup from either calendar.

    Thanks :)

    Hello Antlers,
Unfortunately the page that you give the link no longer exists. It is difficult in these conditions to consult the sources of this page to try to help you.

What I know is that your problem probably does not come from the upgrade to version 2.7 of Wordpress.
    Best regards

  52. Heiremle 19 janvier 2009 à 19:25 Lier au commentaire

    Hello Misty,
    Thank you for your encouragements.
If you’ve read my blog you know that I am actually - and now for almost 4 months - on the development of the next version of Events Calendar. This version, from the same basic principle of the plugin, will be very different and offer many other possibilities.

I understand your concerns and I have been approached in the same direction as your suggestion. There is no question of changing the current version. However, if you can afford to wait, you can have in the next version a module to import and export events. This will simplify life and then you can enter in an Excel spreadsheet, for example, or with Notepad, all your events. And then import them into your blog ;)
    Best regards

  53. Heiremle 19 janvier 2009 à 19:37 Lier au commentaire

    Hello Tami,
I think I didn’t really understand your question. The creation of a post, either by Events Calendar, or any other plugin, is following certain rules imposed by Wordpress itself. Here is the code in Events Calendar:

          if(isset($_POST['EC_doPost'])) {
            $statusPost = $_POST['EC_statusPost'];
            $data = array(
                'post_content' => $output
              , 'post_title' => $title
              , 'post_date' => date('Y-m-d H:i:s')
              , 'post_category' => $wpdb->escape($this->blog_post_author)
              , 'post_status' => $statusPost
              , 'post_author' => $wpdb->escape($this->blog_post_author)
            );
            $post_id = wp_insert_post($data);
            $results = $this->db->getLatestPost();
            $postID = $results[0]->id;

As you can see, the date format is ISO : (Ymd H: i: s). Then according to the options of Wordpress assured that the date will be adapted to your blog.

    Dear Mosey,
I like people like you with as much enthusiasm :)
If I understand you are asking me questions about the possibilities that may offer the next version of Events Calendar, isnt’it?
If so then I am pleased to answer you:
1 - In the next version you can have a very large number of options. But really a very large number! You can influence the behavior of all the calendars and even choose the colors !
2 - You read in my mind;)
But .. I will say no more, I like to do surprises :)
    Best Regards

    Dear Heirem
Thank you for your friendly and intriguing reply! :) I am, of course, extremely excited about the prospect of 2. becoming possible, and was wondering… if for 1. - we might get to create extra fields in addition to those already there? :)
    Thank you again! ^^

  56. Tamile 19 janvier 2009 à 23:58 Lier au commentaire

Hello Heirem and thanks for the quick reply! :)

Hmmm, the WP itself was set to example: “19. Januar 2009″ - for german format, so i wasn’t even suspecting it to be wrong on that end.

I switched to custom now and set it to d.m.Y but still i get…

    Startdate: 2009-01-24
    Enddate: 2009-01-25

Seems my WP settings don’t affect this output at all. :(

(i want it to show 24.01.2009)

Well, it’s not a biggie, but if you create a load of events its a lot of rearranging numbers. ;)

Gona try around a bit tomorrow with that code sniplet you gave me there.

    Thanks again! :)
    -Tami

    Dear Mosey,
I invite you to watch my blog these days. I will publish screen pics of what I have done in the events administration. I am in the debugging process of the creation form. You will can judge by yourself ;)

    Dear Tami,
I understand your concerns. I am like you, when I want to get a result, even if it warms me the skull and take a lot of time, I finally get it!

But I invite you to look directly into the code of Wordpress, as I do myself regularly. There are sites that can help you find in all this code, for example this one.

    Good luck ;)

    Hello Heirem

I have been using events calendar and I’ve alot of events that are on the same day every week. Do I have to add each event or does the events calendar offer weekly events, so I could enter it once, select the timescale and it will then add on the calendar every week automatically. Hope you understand me
    Best regards Elfar

    Elfar,

Look at the left sidebar on this page - it shows examples of Heirem’s latest work-in-progress, which includes recurring events! This capability will be in the next release, which we’re all looking forward to eagerly. There’s no way to do recurring events in the current version.

    Greetings (and apologies for cross-posting),
I downloaded events-calender 6.5.2.1 into my NetworkSolutions account and now I am attempting to activate it in my Word Press blog (radio.wcpl.us). When I try to activate I get a fatal error message:

Warning: require_once(/data/15/1/107/2/1433002/user/1539299/htdocs/blog1/wp-content/plugins/events-calendar/ec_day.class.php) [function.require-once]: failed to open stream: No such file or directory in /data/15/1/107/2/1433002/user/1539299/htdocs/blog1/wp-content/plugins/events-calendar.php on line 35

Opening up events-calender.php in Dreamweaver this is what appears on line 35: require_once(EVENTSCALENDARCLASSPATH.’/ec_day.class.php’); I also see it in the Network Solutions File Manager.
    Anything I am overlooking?
    Many Thanks,
    Will Stein

    Hello Will Stein,
Given the allure of the link to get the files on your site I would be surprised if you have managed to install any plugin. But perhaps you are using Wordpress MU. And in this case I must confess that I have not yet had the opportunity to test Events-Calendar in this multiblogs platform.

On the other hand I must say that Dreamweaver is, in my opinion, the worst tool for working with PHP and Wordpress!
    Best regards

  70. Heiremle 30 janvier 2009 à 16:20 Lier au commentaire

    Hello David,
I must confess that I do not quite understand what you mean. If this is the possibility in the calendar widget to enter new events, then do not worry. Only the creation is possible and only by people registered in the blog ;)
    Best regards

  71. Stewartle 30 janvier 2009 à 18:05 Lier au commentaire

    Heirem,

I believe David is asking for keeping track of event owners, so that two registered (non-admin) users could each create events and edit/delete their own events, but not each other’s. I had suggested a similar feature.

  72. Heiremle 2 février 2009 à 22:35 Lier au commentaire

    Dear Stewart,
Yes I remember very well. But this is not what I understood in the message of David.

So to answer you both, there will be in the next version of rights management for all functions of the plugin. But the notion of ownership is not yet implemented. It is an idea that I noted and that I kept. But the current specification is already quite complicated and I recently decided to freeze it.

I hope you can understand why. You are all full of good ideas. But if I were to respond positively to every good idea, the next version will be ready in 2010! And I would like to finish as soon as possible.

However, you must know that the plugin has been almost entirely re-write. That the new structure will greatly facilitate the integration of new functionality. I hope you will forgive me :)
    Best regards

  73. Stewartle 3 février 2009 à 20:34 Lier au commentaire

    Heirem,

Yes, of course it’s quite understandable that you need to prioritize. Especially with so many people already eager to get their hands on the next version. ;-)

    Hi,
what characters can’t be used in the mysql database for events calendar?

I ask because I exported the events I entered manually through the Events Calendar plugin (which is great) and then using the same formula entered new events into a csv file and then imported that to the mysql database.

The events that i added through the csv file don’t all show, and the example below stops all events showing, however the events that i export from the mysql database into the csv file and then back into the mysql database work fine.

    example manual enter:
3 Performance in the Park, Pluck. Baysgarth House Museum, PluckA comedy string trio that has won four international awards. Free. Free, bring chairs and a picnic. Barton,BaysgarthPark 20/7/08 14:00:00 20/7/08 public 5

auto enter from csv file that stops the whole thing working:
    73 Mother\’s Day Gift workshop Please bring apron or old t-shirt. £3, please book. 01652 631500. Waters\’ Edge Visitor Centre, Barton. 19/2/09 13:30:00 19/2/09 15:30:00 public http://www.watersedgecountrypark.org/visitors_centre/visitors_centre.html

It is no the csv file method however as below is one i entered via csv that works fine.

    72 You\’ve been framed! Free, drop-in. Make a funky picture frame to display a favorite photo. 01724 843533. North Lincolnshire Museum, Scunthorpe 19/2/09 11:00:00 19/2/09 15:00:00 public http://www.northlincs.gov.uk/NorthLincs/Leisure/museums/OpeningTimes.htm

    any ideas much appreciated.
also how is the import export plugin for ev calendar going?
I could probbably set that up for you.

    thanks in advance

    Dear Christopher,
You’re right I work too hard! But it’s so exciting. But I admit I also look forward that this version is complete. I might as well relax a little, move on to other project if someone wants to regain control :)
    Merci à vous !

  78. Heiremle 16 février 2009 à 20:40 Lier au commentaire

    Hello Pete,
You are very well to have succeeded import data via a CSV file!
However, the iinport and export data in the plugin will be available, normally with the next version. Meanwhile the only reliable solution I know is through the transfer SQL ;)

I am having problems with the events calendar. Basically I can only show one event per month. I disabled all plugins except the events calendar, and the events calendar would not show any events. However when I activated cForms (9.1), the events calendar started showing the one event per month.

How do I make it show more than one even per month?

    Heirem,

Events Calendar - a marvellous job, thank you. A good balance between simplicity and features.

The only thing that would be really handy, is the inclusion of a field for
‘Contact person/email/phone:’ All could be on one line.

    Cheers

    Hello,
Thank you very much to the effort and time you put for this plugin.
I do have a bit of a problem. When activated, it has a conflict with either jQuery or my Superfish/Lavalamp menu script. Meaning that in my menu the hover option doesnt work causing errors in the script. I found out it only has to do with event calandar any version, even the recent one.
Is there anything i can do. I’m lost.
    Thanks in advanced.

    Heirem,
I need to know how to remove the popup on hover on the large calendar. I have looked at the code and the css and can not figure out how to disable this or remove certain fields. Either would work for me.
I have a client that does not want all the information to show in the mouseover as he wants to use a field or two for private info. Can you tell me the css parts or the code that would allow me control over this part of the large calendar?
    Thanks,
    Ed

  86. Ed Nailorle 7 avril 2009 à 5:38 Lier au commentaire

By popup I am referring to the tooltips… just to clarify.

  87. Stewartle 8 avril 2009 à 19:11 Lier au commentaire

    Ed,

To disable the tooltip entirely you need to comment out the function call that starts at line 256 (to line 266) of ec_js.class.php. To change what is displayed in the tooltip you would need to change the setting of the $output variable roughly from lines 191-234 of that same file. For instance, to just remove the link out field you could comment out line 234.

Bonjour Heirem and thanks for this really cool plugin.

I just have a quick question.
I’m working on this site at the moment :
    http://iamtibo.com/newpleasant/news/

If you could have a look. I’m using wp 2.7

When you click on an event the “lightbox” effect doesn’t work properly and I have no idea why.

Also I would like to know if it’s possible to only have the tooltips and disable the popup “lightbox” to display the events only within the tooltips?

    I hope this make sense.

    Regards,
    Thibault

  89. Heiremle 29 avril 2009 à 0:17 Lier au commentaire

    Hello Thibault,
Sorry to answer you a bit late. I went to see your pretty web site. The display of the lightbox works very well for me. However if you always want to deactivate it, it is necessary to go in the file ec_js.class.php and to delete the line:

          ecd.jq('#events-calendar-< ?php echo $d;?>').click(function() {
            tb_show("< ?php echo $date_show; ?>", "< ?php bloginfo('siteurl');?>?EC_view=day&EC_month=< ?php echo $m;?>&EC_day=< ?php echo $d;?>&EC_year=< ?php echo $y;?>&TB_iframe=true&width=220&height=250", false);
