Events-Calendar version 6.5.2 beta testing
A version of my favorite plugin is available.
After many hours of work, this version 6.5.2 of Events-Calendar is finally ready. I want it stable and efficient. Before considering the functional improvement was better from a good operating base for everyone, whatever the version of Wordpress or others plugins housemates. The aim is that this version is finally present in the official Wordpress plugin directory. ok Luke ? ![]()
The improvements are:
- Fixed: Implementation of effective jQuery extreme conflict management
- Added: Option checkbox : jQuery extrem protection or not
- Fixed: In the small calendar navigation fails with the passage of years
- Fixed: With some databases the ‘EventsCalendar_main’ table creation was not at the activation plugin
- Added: Updated jQuery Tooltip in 1.3
- Added: jQuery bgiframe plugin for correcting Tooltips with IE
- Fixed: jQuery event change() replaced by click() to work with IE (in the options form including)
Who wants to beta test this version?
Feel free to contact me directly by email !
My address is in the footer of this page;)

would gladly test it for you - love the previous version!
I would like to test your new beta.
i would like to test this plugin, the events calendar jquery is currently breaking my the fade affect on my navigation menu (also uses jquery)
Hello to everyone,
I am still testing the latest version of Event-Calendar on all my test sites. Because I went much beyond what I announced in this post.
For example, in the post that contains the sample Large Calendar, you may notice that I finally managed to make it possible to write before its display
I almost finished, a little patience again, thank you.
Heirem
The 6.5.2 beta has fixed my previous problems. Thank you very much. It is almost working perfectly. I am having one small problem. The event start and end times on the first entry of the month appear as 6:59pm. The times appear correctly in the admin calendar and in my database. The rest of the entries are perfectly fine. Any ideas? Sorry to be such a bother.
Maddy
I am getting the same issue - all other events in the month are correct - just the first - shows start and end time as 6:59
Hello Heirem,
I’ve been using the event calendar for some time now and would love to test out the beta if possible. I’m upgrading to WP2.6.2 as we speak.
Angie
Dear Maddy and Michael,
You have the reflexes and eyesight of professionals beta testers!
Bravo for having found this bug. By correcting, I was led to other corrections and improvements. Small streams make great rivers
I am sending you the update with pleasure.
Hello Angie, with pleasure too !
Can I have this beta version? I have some problem with version 6.4. It has conflict with my theme because of the using of WP jquery library ( I think ). Thanks
Hello Dewi, With pleasure. On condition you promise me after to inform me of the results, even if everything works properly
This also applies to Angie
of course…. don’t worry
I let you know the result, whatever it is
It’s still not working on my website, could you take a look for a while. I put it on my left sidebar. and it makes my image slideshow not working.
here is the URL http://www.pinatih.com
Any suggestion ???
Thanks
I have another problem, I put the calender on my sidebar. but it’s just working on Home page, it’s not working on another page… could you please help me….
thanks
Dear Dewi,
Oh as I would like to have your talent for graphics and CSS design ! Your site and your blog are splendid, really. I am proud that Events-Calendar comes to fit there.
I am still more happy your site require for my small lucky find concerning the jQuery conflicts and that you thus implemented it.
And to finish, you are the only one who give me news concerning this beta version! Then large kisses, cordial kisses, for you
Dewi,
Yes, I have just noted it also, on your site. By examining sources XHTML I note that the files Javascript were not charged. That must maybe come from your theme. But why, I do not know it yet.
For really helping it’s necessary your confidence for me, and an access to the administration of your bog (dashboard), and also at your FTP space. And there I could look at that immediately - I have time, profit in - and correct what does not go. Or at least you switch towards a solution if it is well the template which is in question. Write to me by email.
Hello Heirem,
Good job for your plugin…
I’m french and I would like to know if you’are interested by my suggestion; add one option (checkbox) “Delete auto event after the day” in admin panel. The event is automatically deleted when the event is done…
Thank you
The newest version works perfectly! Merci beaucoup!
I would like to try 6.5.2. I had 6.4 up and running. I tried 6.5.1 but it never showed up on my plugin page, so I could not activate it. I am hoping 6.5.2 will solve that problem. What I am looking for is the ability to click on an event and be brought to the post regarding that event where I can add more information.
thanks
Sorry, it does not work for me. I installed version 6.5.2 with theme Publicizer 1.6 by SiteProNews. I installed the plugin, I added it as a widget, but it does not show on the page. Any ideas? Btw, I could localize it in italian.
I’ve try it on another template, and it’s not working when I enable jQuery extreem protection
Hello Nico, I’m also french, you know. But I suppose that if you write to me in english, it’s to be understood by everyone who read these comments
Your suggestion is interesting. I note. But I would like advice from other people. Just one question: what is the specific interest of this option ( “Delete auto event after the day”) for YOU?
Dear Maddy, I’m happy for you. If you have a little time more, would you please test the last beta for me on you site. And of course tell me if there is a difference. Thanx
Hello Conrad, This feature is in since version 6.5.1, I believe. Version 6.5.2 is in beta and is available for download on my sidebar. Once installed, quickly tell me what it is for your site, even if it works well. Thanx
Hello Carlo, you are welcome for the Italian localization! If you need help, ask me. You must download PoEdit. It’s a free software.
About your site, make sure you have the latest beta version, currently available in my sidebar. If it still doesn’t work, I would be happy to help you if you write me by email (see in the heirem’s footer):
- URI of your site.
- Admin access to your dashboard
- Especially admin access to your FTP space.
Otherwise I can not do anything concrete and effective.

Tu me suis ?

Here I write in English because it concerns many people:
I currently working on two fronts:
- The possibility to make a recurring event. On a day of the week by example.
- The possibility in the widget to choose a year and a month to display. This avoids tedious navigation in the monthly calendars.
Dear Carlo,
I found a solution to your problem and I applied. Events Calendar works very well on your site. It is not he who is involved but your theme. I have failed to understand why your theme (Publicize 1.6) does not properly recognize the widgets!
So I went by the method without widgets. By inserting the proper function in ‘rightsidebar.php’ :
This is less friendly but at least it works. I have also created a page with the large calendar, to ensure its smooth operation. A toi de jouer maintenant
I await your translation in Italian
Hi!
I´ve got a “Warning message” on the screen. It´s a small sign under the button “add event”.
But I can do nothing. What ist the Problem?!? - I still have a Problem with the plugin, too. When I want to write an new event, the plugin doesn´t save it. It don´t appear at my calendar… Do you know why? I use WP 2.6.2 (DE-Edition)… Thanks for helping!
Tobias*
The 6.2.5 beta 3 works well on my site both as a list and as an embedded calendar. The full page now appears when the list item is clicked. However, enen with that success, as always, I am greedy for more. I would like the same popup to appear when the list items are moused over as appears when the calendar entries are moused over. That seemed to be the case in an earlier version.
Thanks
Hello Tobias,
Why don’t you tell me what told the Warning message?
You want it remains a secret?
I know where it comes anyway. It’s a problem that already been reported to me by Carlo and I corrected. I invite you to download tomorow morning the beta 4 in my sidebar. And install it, after having desactivate the plugin of course.
On the other hand, I advise you to check the options:
- ‘I have adapted the Events-Calendar stylesheet’
- ‘jQuery Extrem Protection’
And finally I strongly disadvise to use frames with Wordpress, as it’s currently with your site.
Heirem,
Sorry for taking so long to respond back to you. The day job had me out of town for a while.
I upgraded the events calendar to the 6.5.2 beta 3 version and the problem on the missing ‘prev’/'next’ has been resolved.
I went through configuring the ‘Length of Day Names in Widget’ from ‘1′ - ‘3′ all worked fine. When I went to ‘4′ the full day name lengths were displayed and the calendar extended past the right margin of the sidebar. However the ‘prev’ month still displayed correctly.
A question on the ‘link out’, is this only supported(displayed) for a Post of the Event?
Regards,
Mike S
I have installed 6.5.2B4 and it has resolved my problems; although, now there is a box with a border next to the month on the large calendar. How can I remove the box. It looks out of place.
Great work on the calendar.
Thanks,
Chris
Hello Chris, Do you have a URI to submit me, that I look at this box? Because I do not see at all what it could be! And without seeing you can not understand. Without understanding we can not solve
Check out the site here.
Chris, I’m unable to access to your site, even at the homepage.
My browser Firefox 3 tells me: The connection with the server was reset for reload the page.
Try this link. The site is on a non-standard port.
Thanks
One more thing. How do you get the shaded circle around today’s date in the small calendar. My calendar only bolds the date.
Chris
Hi Heirem -
What is the function/method for displaying a bullet list of events without using a widget? Sorry if this has been answered already.
Thanks!
Hi Heirem!
Sorry, I´ve forgot to tell you what the massage is. Please look at this picture:
So I would try the next Version and hope that it will work. But I´ve got two questions. What do you mean with:
Sorry, but I don´t understand you!? Can you explain me your opinion!?
What did I wrong?
And the other question is: Is it possible to add an event that appears every year on the same date? ( Birthday ) - perhaps it is an offer for the next Version!!!?
Thanks for your quickly answers!!!!
good job!

There are some missworkings of this plugin yet on my “test site” , http://enredateconnosotros.lacate.es . I´ve checked Jquery, … I`ve just implemented the beta and i have no finished to test it. Thanks for your great Work in this plug-in!!
I found one more bug. The small calendar overlays the “Calendar” title when viewing from IE7.
Thanks
Chris, you can automatically adjust the width of the calendar widget playing on the length of the name of the weekdays in the options. Just check the option “I adapted the style sheet of Events-Calendar” to get the shaded circle around today’s date in the small calendar. It works only with Firefox anyway I think.
Hi there.
how can i translate this great plugin ?
Thanks
Hi!
Great Work with your calender. I’m trying to make a page for a canoe rental service. This page is not available for the public, yet.
So I need the calendar for special tours. It works rather fine, apart from the fact that the layer “onmouseover” is not working - it displays some weird “title”-tag!?
The “jQuery Extrem Protection (checked = yes)” is checked.
Second point is a feature request (compare: http://www.kanu.barnim.de/v2/termine.php): By clicking on the “B” you get redirected to a form where the entry already appears. Plus: Is it possible to let users choose between the “big calender” and a list of upcoming events? (but not in the sidebar) - just like the link above..
Thank you for your great service anyway!
Regards
hi, rene…..
I’m back….. wanna ask you how to change pop up window width…..
Hello every one,
Sorry, can not respond promptly to your messages that I would like. And as you would also, of course. The few times that I dedicate to Events-Calendar are absorbed in its evolution. In view of these results, you should be likely to be filled soon. Chuuut But I do say no more.
Thank you for your suggestions. Even if I did not answer, even if I did not feel taken into account, be aware that they are registered, examined, evaluated and identified.
When your aid applications, I can not yet, in all sincerity, be available only ask for your requests. I’m still just amazed that people with the skills required do not respond to requests as simple as that, for example, Dewi on the width and height of the “popups” Thickbox
Best regards
Heirem
Hello Sergio Lopes,
Search “Poedit” in the web and in my blog and you will find
Thanx by advance to send me back your translation files.
Dear Heirem,
First of all, thanks a lot for your great job on the Calendar plugin ! It is a great and useful tool.
My question : is there any way I can import .ical or .cvs calendar into the events-Calendar ?
Thanks agains, cheers,
Elie
Dear Elie,

Thanks a lot for your encouragement.
Not yet, but it’s a item in my todo list
PS : If you have informations, or source code, on how to integrate an import / export iCal in a plugin, send them to me
here’s the Portuguese translation file:
http://sergiolopes.com.pt/software/events-calendar-pt_PT.zip
Thanks
I notice that this version and version 6.5 messed up the “Location” in that all of the words are joined together without any spaces. At least that is what happens when there is a post associated with a calendar entry.
Anyone else experience this?
-Neil
Tks for all the new efforts and work Heirem!
Tried the Beta 4 on my site http://absolutelyBangkok.com
but again prev/next months didn’t show up, the CSS of the large calendar is all messed up and events do not show at all (small and large versions).
I don’t think I have an overly complicated site - went back to the old version of the plugin therefore.
The only “error” there:
Midnight is set not localized, but where the server’s located - and thats 12hrs away from here …
I eagerly hope you wise programmers out there can iron out those issues.
BD
Hello Dan,
I thought you just yesterday and the problems of time differences to your site. This time, you may want to provide the link and it’s a beautiful composition. You go very well in photo
Did you try the new option “jQuery extrem protection“? What was the outcome?
As the Events-Calendar version 6.5.2 is still a beta, so I will make an effort to correct these problems. Provided you me (as with Dewi, Gina, Bryan … etc) by email, admin access to your dashboard, FTP space and control panel of your hosting.

hi Heirem!
just added the new version seconds ago (the final one, i think …) …
have some troubles with that, you can see it live here at http://www.musclecars.at/
1. the details to events doesn’t shows correct!
2. events doesn’t appear on the calender site (meetings&termine)!
3. no month switch appear on the calender page.
the other thing is the overwritten css style from the calender-widget, but thats what i can fix later by myself.
many thx!
tobi
Heirem, you say the Event Calendar 3.6.2 is beta but it appeared in my list of plug-ins notifying me that an upgrade was ready. I selected “automatic upgrade” and it installed the new version.
So, what’s going on with the beta vs. automatic upgrade?
Thanks,
Neil
This from Luke Howell’s page: http://www.lukehowell.com/2008/09/21/events-calendar-652/

I have this happen as well, I am using v6.5 and I have to go fix that a lot. I’ll keep on the lookout here to see if it gets fixed.
Heirem, you have been working like Superman on this… thank you!
I find myself reticent to upgrade to 6.5.2 from 6.5 after you got it working on my site so beautifully, but I would probably benefit from the upgrade.
In the next week, we will begin using the calendar heavily, so I’d like to have it working at its best.
Would you be willing to try the new version on my site and test it (and fix it) like you did earlier, you still have the login info… I am going out of town for a week, but will be in contact via email and can follow what’s happening.
Thanks.
Hello everybody,
Sorry not to be as assiduous as I would like to answer you. I have a little delay which I will endeavour to catch up with now.
SergioLopez > Thank you very much for sending me your translation in Portuguese. And one more, this is fun.
Neil >
1 - Very strange what you tell about the content of the field ‘location’. But I went to see your site and it seems that you have found a solution. Who sets the cause or to bypass?
2 - Indeed, Luke Howell, without inform me, had put it in the Wordpress directory. I discovered it with your message. That should not pose problems. Until now, all the “bugs” which were subjected to me, do not blame finally this version beta.
3 - Thank you for your intervention
Gina >
1 -Then you also have the same problem than Neil with locations? Gina, can I go to your FTP space, if it is still possible, to see this problem more closer ? If so then where exactly do I look? Be my guide!
2 - Our thoughts come together so! Yes, with pleasure. The best solution would be to go through a web space parallel. On another server hosting. So we could test it as we want. I have that ! Thanks to the kindness of Corey ZEMELMAN, The Biz Services Inc., Such a space completely available to me. But I need your official permission to transfer the code of your site - without the database - into this space.
If this continues ‘Superman Heirem’ will have to consider to be paid
Thank you to all of you for your interest!
Heirem, you have my permission to use my code to test the new version. You have the login info already.
As for the locations text getting squished together, it happens sometimes… I don’t know what triggers it, but when it does, all of the entries’ locations are affected.
Good luck and keep me posted, superman… tee hee.
Heirem,
entries that had their “locations” stripped of blank spaces in the database.
Thanks, I went back into my calendar and fixed the few (6 or
For example, on my calendar, October 11 is the following event location, “National Capital Area, Camp William B. Snyder located in Haymarket, VA”. After I upgrade to a new version the following happens: “NationalCapitalArea,CampWilliamB.SnyderlocatedinHaymarket,VA”.
Can you check your code to see why it would be going into the database and stripping out all of the blank spaces? This error was also in the prior (non beta) version.
Also: Feature Request — I would love to see a reoccurring event feature. For example, every Monday between start date and end date. Or every second Tuesday of the month, etc.
Thanks for your great work!
-Neil
hello,
I uploaded and unpacked this version beta#4 but I can’t find it in my plugins list. So I uploaded version 6.5.1 and I see it and activated it.
BUT I seem to have a problem, maybe related to the ozh admin drop down menu plugin:
the menus generated by your plugin look like this if I am on the page showing the calendar:
http://www.die-kellerkinder.eu/wp-admin/admin.php?page=events-calendar
http://www.die-kellerkinder.eu/wp-admin/admin.php?page=events-calendar-options
http://www.die-kellerkinder.eu/wp-admin/admin.php?page=events-calendar#addEventform
But if I am on any other page, the third link, to create an event is like this:
http://www.die-kellerkinder.eu/wp-admin/index.php#addEventform
somehow it seems to be relative to where I am when clicking it?
is this a general bug or is it the ozh plugin?
any ideas?
Thanks a lot for your answer ! I’m afraid I don’t the programming knowledge to be of any help on the ical issue…
Best !
I’ve been experimenting with your Events Calendar and it works great for me in a monolingual setting. But I am struggling to get it to work properly in a multi-lingual setting, using either qtranslate or Language Switcher to switch between Welsh and English. Can Events Calendar work multilingually? If not, are there plans to make it do so? Cheers
Dear Neil >
About your ‘Feature Request’, just wait the next version
As soon as I can I look at closer this story of ‘compressed’ location. Based on the site of Gina. I wish you know. I have my idea but I can not be everywhere at once. I am not so Superman than that! lol
Hello Wyn James,
Not yet in the state. But this is part of my ToDo List. With regard to the method of linking multiple language, I work on another solution, which I think is much better than that which you speak. Because it does not logically require, by default, any intervention from the visitors, whatever their natural language
Cordially,
Heirem
The issue with the incorrect version being uploaded to Wordpress has been corrected. Something went wrong when I uploaded the program. My apologies for this mistake. Version 6.5.1 is now correctly listed as stable and 6.5.2 beta 4 is published under the development version.
I am very pleased at all the work that Heirem had done and very thankful to have people that are talented and willing to take charge when I was unable to focus time on the plugin.
Also another big thanks to anyone who has contributed to the development of the plugin and thanks to all the testers.
I really like this calendar - I think it’s going to work great for my church’s website. I’m using the Large Calendar.
Two things I can’t figure out - the link to the next month doesn’t work. And when I check JQuery extrem protection, all the events I’ve posted go away.
Yikes!
Thank you for your hard work on this - I hope to use it soon for my website when I figure out these issues.
Oh yeah! I would LOVE to see a recurring event option as well!
Dear Luke,
Thanks to you too Luke.
We would not be here without you
It must be exhilarating for you, isnt it?
Hello Susan
Your problem in your calendar is not a Events-Calendar problem or protection jQuery problem either.
Your problem comes from your template theme and, more precisely, the organization of your < div >.
I invite you, as I invite all those who will read these lines, to use Firefox 3. And download one of his most famous plugins: Web Developer!
Once installed, Susan, will therefore enable the “View Style Information” in the menu CSS. Then point your mouse on the “October” link. And there you will immediately understand!

Hi!
First of all, thanks for your work with this great plugin.
Are you planning to allow multiple categories on events? It would be great to have different categories with different colours at calendar.
I’ve found something here [1], but about a very old version of the plugin.
[1] http://www.sosuke.com/index.php/2006/06/11/using-multiple-categories-in-eventcalendar3-for-wordpress/
And also, there ara some people hacking plugin’s code in order to link a post with an event (and show that link).
You can find it here.
http://wordpress.org/support/topic/180719?replies=17
Thanks again!!!
Hello Xavi Ivars,
Thanks very much for these links and informations. I will explore all this head rested
As to your suggestion, which I find excellent, it is now in my ToDo List!
Hi again.
I think I may need a Wordpress plugin in the near future that has those features: categorization (I would prefer if each event categegory could be associated with a post categories on the admin panel) and direct link with a post from calendar view.
If you think that they can be added to your current plugin, it would be great. If no (no time to develop it, no interesting features,…), and it’s permitted by license (I think its GPL, but I haven’t seen anything), maybe a use this plugin as a start.
Thanks!

The only thing is that I haven’t developed any wordpress plugin yet, so development would be very slow.
Thanks!
Some “errors” with mandigo Theme and events calendar widget:
- No tooltip on event.
- No prev Month and Next Month nav.
- On IE7, widget overlaps Widget Title
JQuery protect On.
Dear Xavi,
Ok for categorization. But have you tested the latest beta version of Events-Calendar? As you read, I have some doubts
Hello Jesus,
Death of laughter! I invite you to read one of my last comments, to Susan, earlier in this page. So do the same manip, but click your mouse on “Ago” or “Oct” and you will see your problem! The Mandigo theme is to review!
Deari Heirem: yes, I’ve tested it
But what I meant was to have a link on the small calendar (in addition to the large calendar and the events list). I’m not sure (I haven’t read all the source code of the plugin yet), but I think it’s just what people on my 2nd reply were doing (http://wordpress.org/support/topic/180719?replies=17).
Thanks!
Hi,
Would appreciate if you could send the beta to me via email. Many thanks.
Cheers,
Jak
Jesus >
If you double click you can see in the CSS windows, below your page, that the CSS rules are applied to “*”. I don’t know precisely the theme Mandigo, I have no doubts about its qualities, but it seems to me to apply rules to an entire document is an aberration!
Ok Xavi !
You finished me decide on a small thing. There is a small improvement that I kept for the next version but I will add to the current version. In a few moments the version 6.5.2 Beta 5 will be available in my sidebar. And I think it answer to your immediate demands
Sorry Luke, I know that this is a little too fast!
I would like to have more time to finish this version 6.6! And finally some time with Events Calendar. But I think this is an illusions! lol
Hello Jak Ruster,
You email with gmail. Zip files are rejected by gmail
If you could write this commentary is that you can access to the sidebar of this page, isn’t it? And in my sidebar you can find the beta 5 version, freshly available.
Dear Heirem… I’ve updated the plugin, but I haven’t seen anything new
I’ll give it another look in a while, to find the differences between both versions.
Thank you Heirem! You were right that I would see the problem right away.
I’m excited to have the web developer tool you suggested - I’m a nincompoop when it comes to this stuff, but I’m learning and this tool will be invaluable.
People like you are so helpful to people like me
Thank you for your help and patience and perseverance!
hey, i found a javascript bug in 6.5.2-beta5
it shows up in the firebug error console as well as in the safari developer error console. fix it by doing the following:
in this file: ec_management.class.php
on line 241, change:
})(jQuery);
to:
});
on firefox 2.0.0.17 on a mac, this bug also causes the event to be submitted twice, and if you associate it with a post, 2 posts get created as well.
the double posting thing didnt happen in safari, though the js error was thrown.
i didnt test in any other browsers.
thanks, great work on the plugin.
i think i found another bug, this time in the way the calendar gets rendered into html on the admin page.
currently, after the table’s thead tag is closed, there is no opening tbody or tr tag. im not sure if this causes rendering issues on any browsers, but the fix is easy enough:
in this file: ec_calendar.class.php
on line 206, change:
$calendar .= ”;
to
$calendar .= ”;
thanks again.
Hi Heirem,
I use the theme Connections Reloaded and Events Calendars is not displayed properly on the sidebar, the link to “next month” and all future events are missing. It seems that the problem is due to the theme.
Does someone have a workaround?
Thank you
Hi, this is a very useful plugin but have some things that are not so good for me.. like: I want to insert other calendar to other entry with the same month but only with other notes.
For example if I have a sales blog and I want to insert a calendar with the dates on which any product is available, but that does not mean that it is the availability to other products in the same month.
If I haft to add the same calendar in other product post this haft to be with diferents availability dates.
Maybe in future you take in count all this and you improve this wonderfoul plugin..
thanks for the plugin.
HI,
Thanks for maintaining such an excellent plugin.
I am having a strange problem. I am running Wordpress 2.6.2, and installed version 6.5.1 of events calendar. Everything seems to run without error messages, but I get no events appearing in the displayed calendars. not the sidebar nor the large version I did on a separate page called “calendar”. It allowed me to create events with no problem, and the data do appear in accompanying blog posts I got it to write.
I am running mysql 5.0.45 and php 5.2.6 on a mac running OS X (10.7) and have other versions of wordpress running fine on that machine.
I tried your beta 5 version of 6.5.2 and got the same problem. I thought it might have been the k2 theme plugin, but taking that off did not change the error.
I am very puzzled. Any help is welcome.

Hello, im no coder, how to change the language ?? Please answer
you have my email
To begin with, I didn’t find an appropriate place to post my thoughts, so I randomly decided to post them here. I’m using Events Calendar 6.5.1
I’m very pleased with the plugin. But I would be even more pleased if it could display Icelandic characters correctly. You can see here http://www.haskoladansinn.is that the plugin doesn’t seem to want to display them in upper case and it can’t display “ð” at all.
If the appropriate place to post this was before my eyes all along, I apologize. But if the link to that place was in French…
Best regards, Hrafnkell
Hi, I misposted on a different thread….
I would like to point out an issue. Today is 9/27. I moved ahead 2 months to November and I notice that there are 2 November 2nds. There appears to be an issue because it causes the days to be off by one. Notice in the following picture http://snipurl.com/3w7k6
Hello everybody,
Xavi > You have watched ill. Take a look at the tickbox when an event points to an external link and / or a post.
Dear Susan, thank you very much, these compliments are my diet.
Raduis > For the ‘})(jQuery);’ I’m totally agree with you. But for headers weekdays of the admin calendar, I do not see where the problem lies.
Steph > You have two options: change the theme or dive into the CSS of your ‘Connections Reloaded’ in order to better adapt to its contents.
Billy Brasov > It is a highly sophisticated demand and not much demand. In addition I think if you can afford to put a sales blog online, then you also have the means to pay a programmer to make your custom plugins.
cvj > It would have taken specify dates of events you’ve recorded. Looking at the sources I see no detection of event, whether for the small or the large calendar. To resolve your problem you need to go see into your database (phpmyadmin). Check that the events are there. If so then maybe the contents of your recordings disrupts their display. But in the state, with only the site’s URL, I can not tell you more.
oli > The language used in the plugin is based on the language setting of Wordpress itself. If your platform Wordpress was installed properly then you have nothing to change. Unless the language that you want to display is not yet in the list of languages supported by Events Calendar. To verify you can access to the files translation list in the directory ‘lang’ of the plugin.
Hrafnkell > If you have not yet found a solution to your problem - to display local and specific characters - so I would be happy to assist you. All contributions to Events Calendar, to allow its use broadest, interest me. Email me directly by email. My address is in the feet of this page.
Jamie > Thank you for this information. I’ll watch this with great care.
Is the select option “draft/published”?
It’s cool!!!
thx Heirem for the quick answer, my problem is , wordpress is in englisch but i wanna have the calendar in polish, so its impossible to change the language manually becouse as you said its based on the main language from wordpress
No Xavi,
Dear Oliver, I don’t understand you ! Why don’t you install and configure your blog in polish ?! It’s very simple. I invite you to visite this page : WordPress in Your Language
Dear Heirem, i just wanna have my backend in englisch but the front should be all in polish, dont understand why this should be a problem for this great calendar ? Or is it ?
Oliver, I see now what you want. But, I’m sorry, you must wait the version 6.6 of Events-Calendar
Dear Neil, I spend few hours trying to understand your problem with spaces in the field ‘Location’. I did not find a specific cause and obvious. But I made some hypothetical changes. I invite you to install the last version (6.5.2 beta 6) of the plugin and let me know of any changes.
Dear Jamie, I found the cause of the bug that you detected. Namely that in the plugin to view a schedule attached to the fields of event dates, in some months, a date appears twice.
This is a bug in the plugin Datepicker, in its compressed version (’min’). So I replaced the javascript file concerned. I invite you to download and install the version 6.5.2 beta 6, available in my sidebar. And then to keep me track of your tests.
Hi,
Thank’s for your work maintaining this plugin. It’s great.
I have one question, is there a possibilty to have the events shown in a list on a page. You can have it in a widget, but I would love to have it on a separate page as well.
Hi Thomas, you think at a dynamic list or a static one, depending of the posted time ?
But why not. If other people you wonder, we’ll see. However, considering your question I told myself that making the list of events sidebar navigable would also be a good idea … no ?
If it is a dynamic list, so I do not see the interest. Since in time the page where the posts will be disconnected from events. If it is a static list, there’s nothing easier to compose in a post
The list I need is the same list as you can get as a widget but that I can put on a page or a post. If I could differ the number of events between the two it would be great, so that I can have more events showing on the page than on the widget.
Heirem,
I tested Beta 6 and it works! It solved the problem of removing the “spaces” between the words within the location field. Everything is working very well. I like the subtle enhancements.
There is only one thing that seems amiss. There is now a graphic element that appears after the month. (Please see: http://troop1970.org/calendar/). How can I get rid of that small gray border?
Otherwise, fantastic work my friend!
-Neil
Dear Thomas, Ok I will see, if I can do something like you need.
Dear Neil, Thank you my friend
The square around the ‘ajax loader’ image should not actually appear. I have seen it on other blogs, and is used depending of the CSS template.
You have the choice between download version 6.5.2 beta 7 or add this in the file ‘\css\events-calendar.css’:
Just after :

/* * Large Calendar */
/* * Calendar formatting */
Heirem, Thank you, that fixed the CSS problem. All things considered, I don’t think you need the AJAX control on that page, but that is just my opinion.
Best regards,
Neil
I’m working on a wordpress theme for a friend’s website. Adapting 2 free themes that she really liked into one theme with elements from each. Most of it is done, and she’d love to have the Events Calendar visible on her site, however when I turn the plugin on as a widget it displays as if it’s aligned to the right rather than the center of the side bar. I’ve been hunting through the CSS and am not seeing the problem, am I just blindly missing something or is this a bug?
the test-site is at: http://teacher.blackheartguild.net/
I use the beta version of the plugin on my website, and I’m very happy with it, so thanks for this great plugin.
I made a small adjustment: I noticed that in Internet Explorer, there was some kind of a problem with IE using its cache so changes in the calendar didn’t show up directly unless you opened the site in a new browser session.
I changed in file ec_js.class.php on line 147 and 157 the following:
(this is the code that generates the next and previous buttons in the widget calendar)
ecd.jq.get("/index.php",to
ecd.jq.get("/index.php?dummy=",it isn’t a very sophisticated solution, but it works for me..
hmm that code doesn’t show up very well, see the image here for what I actually mean..
Greg, try adding the following CSS rules:
#calendar_wrap { margin: 0; }#wp-calendar { margin: 0 auto !important; }
That did it thanks, totally didn’t think about margins.
Dear Neil, It is indeed a question I asked myself. I think that some sites will need it and others do not. The solution I’ve found and it should probably be in the next version
Hello Greg, and thank you James !
Hello Martijn, Indeed you are right. I do not know why this is not what I applied. I check and correct all this for the next version. Why, when I visited your site, I am greeted by the message “You are banned”??!!
That is weird. Maybe it has something to do with the wp-ban plugin, I uninstalled it so if you try again, it should let you through now..
Dear Martijn, It’s allright now
Hi,
Thank you for taking time to reply to our requests.
Steph
Hi Heirem,
first of all, like most of the guys around, I’d like to thank you for your great plugin!
Anyhow I’m having some minor issues with it. As I read all the comments here I understand this has to be some problem with my theme, as it works fine with the default theme… I’m using WP 2.6.1 and Events Calendar 6.5.1. I also have Cforms II and the NextGen Gallery installed. Well after all that yadda yadda… here is the thing:
I included a calendar on a page and when I use the navigation (next month) and return to the previous month (previous month) the events disapear. When I reload the page everything is fine again. Any ideas? You can find my test site under http://jealousyebook.com/calendar.
Don’t mind the name…. has nothing to do with it’s content. Just a domain which was in stock ;o)
cheers,
t
Hi Timmy, I have a similar problem with my site, but in my case only the first event displays in the calendar. I’m using events calendar 6.5.2 Beta 7
I had a look at your site in Firefox, and the error console has the following error when switching back to October, the following error is reported:
Error: $("#events-calendar-2-3Large").Tooltip is not a functionSource File: http://jealousyebook.com/wp-content/themes/freshnews/includes/js/jquery-1.2.1.pack.js
Line: 22
I a similar error on my site, using the latest beta version of the plugin.
Unfortunately Heirem and I have been troubleshooting the issue and haven’t been able to fix the problem yet.
Does anyone know what may be causing these errors?
In your case, upgrading to the latest version of the plugin may help you.
James
Idea for the next version: Give the links in the pop-up thickbox their own class/classes. I’ve CSS’d pretty much everything else apart from that, because there is no class reference in the source code. I’m not literate in PHP/JS, so there’s no way I can do this myself. Any assistance as a one-off from other users would be appreciated equally.
Thanks.
Hi James,
thanks for you answer!!
I tried to update to the current beta version and unfortunately it resulted in displaying no event at all on the big calendar. The sidebar widget however is still fine. Even the next and previous month links are gone.
I tried to delete and recreate an event but it didn’t help either. Any further ideas?
cheers,
t
Addition to my earlier post:
I get the following error: ecd is not defined
The corresponding lines of code look like this:
ecd.jq(document).ready(function() { ...Heirem,
Thanks very much for updating this great plugin, keep up the great work!
I have Events Calendar 6.5.2a installed on our WP 2.6.2 site and it doesnt appear to have any issues related to the calendar functionality or display (love the new features).
We do have only one issue related to the creation of posts from the ‘add event’ interface however. We currently use the Subscribe2 plugin to manage subscriptions and send emails for new posts. In the previous version of events cal: 6.4 we would create events and have events cal create a new post as well. Subscribe2 would recognize that newly created post and trigger an email to those subscribers.
With the new version of events calendar, Subscribe2 is not sending the email out when we create a new post from the E.C. interface. Any ideas on the differences between the two versions that may be causing this?
Thanks,
Hi Heirem,
Thanks for this great plugin!
I found an html nesting error that’s really simple to correct. In ec_calendar.class.php on line 48 could you please change:
to:
There’s also a problem with the generated javascript from the function ecd.jq(document).ready(function() in ec_js.class.php, lines 366 to 380. The echo $output gives a code where backlashes are missing in closing tags for ’strong’ that are required to properly display the js within the generated html.
From my test site:
I don’t have a clue how to fix this. It doesn’t seem to harm functionality of the site, it only gives html validation warnings.
Thanks again,
Patricia
Hi,
When I update to 6.5.2a, the plugin, featured content gallery by http://www.wpelements.com, stops working if I roll back to 6.5.1 everything is OK.
Do you know what the reason would be?
Thanks,
Hello Timmy, you not using the latest version of the plugin ! Try it
Then if it does not work then try checking the option ‘jQuery extrem protection’. And keep me informed.
If it still does not work is that you encounter maybe the same problem as James. I ask you then, in this case, to write me by email. My address is in the foot of this page. Thanx
Hello Kaecy.us,
Ok! The content of the thickbox is produced by the code into the file ‘ec_day.class.php‘. If you can decipher the code XHTML then you have no difficulties in changing to add CSS classes at your convenience. I only ask you to forward me these changes by email (and remember the address of your site) to inspire me for the next version. Thank you in advance.
Hello Jon, I honestly don’t know why. Have you noticed that now, when you create an event and you decide to publish it as a post, you must also decide whether status will be ‘published’ or ‘draft’? By default the item is ‘draft’. If you choose to edit it before publication Subscrib2 then expected to deliver an email. Is this the case?
Hello Patrica, thank you for those remarks make sense. But I currently work on the next version. Much of the code that you know has already been transformed into depth. You will test this next version and I would be happy to apply the mistakes you’ve detected at the time
Hello Chris, It’s hard to say with the element of error that you provide. Especially since I have no calendar on your site.
What I can guess is a conflict with mootools. With the latest version of Events Calendar have you test the option ‘jQuery extrem protection’?
The solution might be there.
Hello Heirem,
I installed the latest version and just renamed the old one for backup purposes… turns out I reactivated the old version. Guess I’m with stupid!
Thanks a lot. It seems to work fine. There is a little grey square between the month and the year on the big calendar site but I’ll think I can manage to make that disapear.
Again, thank you so much and keep up the good work!! I’ll definetly check back for the next release.
cheers,
t
Good job! However, I have a serious problem with conflicts between this plugin and Lightbox 2. It doesn’t works together
Would it be possible to fix it or turn off a function “opening small calendar in new window”? Thanks
Hi Heirem,
I did an “automatic” upgrade to version 6.5.2a to my site and the problem of “blank spaces” disappearing in the location field is back. I did not correct this in the EC database so that you can see it for yourself.
Thanks again for your work and support on this great plug-in!
Warm regards,
Neil
Dear Neil, I’m not a big fan of the automatic update in Wordpress. Anyxay I never arrived to make it work! I wonder if, during this procedure, a reactivation of the plugin is made. The fact to disable the plugin before installation, triggers certain treatments at the reactivation. But the most surprising is that, logically, the version 6.5.2 beta 7 is exactly the same as the version 6.5.2a!
What I do not understand is how this error occurs? Do you think the application is removing the spaces from the database? Otherwise, I cannot understand how this occurs. Does anyone else have this issue?
Best regards,
Neil
Neil, the issue of spaces being removed from the location field is due to a bug in the plugin’s activation procedure.
Whenever you activate the plugin, the spaces are removed.
I commented on this issue here. I have also suggested how to fix the problem too.
I’m not sure if Heirem is planning on implementing my suggestion or not.
James
Hello,
I am having some problems with how the calendar displays on different themes. I have trued several themes, and the best I can get is a calendar that looks close to prefect, but the calendar grid (not used technically, but the lines that make up the boxes that contain the dates) doesn’t ever seem to show up right. There are missing lines that make so two dates will share the same box, or there will be date boxes (especially at the end or beginning of the calendar) that have lines missing. Is there anyone here who has experienced similar problems or has an idea of how to fix them? Also, are there any themes out there that work well with this plugin?
Thanks so much for the help!
Hello jdchumanities, when a plugin is designed to fit into a theme there are almost always adjustments to make. But these adaptations are limited to changes CSS. These changes are required in the file ‘events-calendar.css’ in the’ css’ directory of the plugin. Without a minimum knowledge of CSS it is very difficult to do it. But many Internet sites offer informations, support and even offer training to CSS rules. Events-Calendar, by default, is made to function without changes with the themes given in Wordpress.
Hello everyone,
This post is really filled with comments.
I think it is better to close it.
I invite you to visit my latest posts to write what you have to say or ask.
